1. Introduction
This End User Licence Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal contract between you (“User”) and NovaTurn Media Player (“NovaTurn”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By installing, activating, or using NovaTurn, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not install or use the software.
2. Licence Grant
Upon installation, NovaTurn provides:
2.1 Trial Licence
You are granted a non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, time‑limited licence to use NovaTurn for evaluation purposes for 7 days. All features remain fully accessible during the trial period.
2.2 Full Licence
Upon purchasing a licence and activating NovaTurn with a valid licence key:
You are granted a non‑exclusive, non‑transferable licence to install and use NovaTurn on one Windows device.
The licence is tied to your device’s Machine ID.
3. Licence Restrictions
You may not:
modify, reverse‑engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of NovaTurn
bypass, alter, or tamper with the activation system
share, sell, or distribute your licence key
rent, lease, or sublicense the software
use NovaTurn for any unlawful purpose
attempt to activate NovaTurn using unauthorised or counterfeit keys
4. Ownership
NovaTurn is licensed, not sold. All intellectual property rights, including but not limited to:
source code
design
artwork
branding
activation system
documentation
remain the exclusive property of NovaTurn Media Player.
1. Purpose of This Policy
This Licence Key Usage Policy (“Policy”) explains how NovaTurn licence keys may be used, activated, verified, and managed. It applies to all users of NovaTurn Media Player (“NovaTurn”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
By activating NovaTurn with a licence key, you agree to comply with this Policy.
2. Licence Key Types
NovaTurn uses two licence key types:
- Trial Licence — automatically provided for evaluation
- Full Licence — purchased and activated using a licence key at time of purchace.
- Note: You must enter your machine ID into the provided text box on our
Stipe payment page, a full licence key cannot be provided without your Machine ID.
2.1 Trial Licence
- Valid for 7 days
- Fully functional
- Cannot be transferred
- Does not require a licence key
2.2 Full Licence
- Unlocks the full version permanently
- Bound to a single device via its Machine ID
- Requires a valid licence key generated specifically for that device
3. Activation Requirements
To activate NovaTurn:
- The user must enter a valid NovaTurn licence key.
- NovaTurn reads the device’s Machine ID.
- The licence key must match the Machine ID using NovaTurn’s verification system.
- If valid, NovaTurn writes a licence file to the user’s system and unlocks the full version.
Activation does not require an internet connection.
4. Machine‑ID Binding
4.1 Single‑Device Binding
Each licence key is permanently tied to one specific device. A licence key generated for one Machine ID cannot activate NovaTurn on any other device.
4.2 Hardware Changes
Major hardware changes (e.g., motherboard replacement) may alter the Machine ID. If this occurs, the existing licence key may no longer validate. A new key may be issued at NovaTurn’s discretion.
4.3 Device Replacement
If a user replaces their computer, the existing licence key cannot be reused. A new licence key must be generated for the new Machine ID.
5. Licence Key Generation
Licence keys are generated manually by NovaTurn based on the user’s Machine ID. Users must provide their Machine ID to NovaTurn at the time of purchace to receive a valid licence key.
Licence keys are:
- unique
- cryptographically derived
- non‑transferable
- bound to the specific Machine ID provided at the time of purchase
6. Prohibited Licence Key Activities
Users may not:
- share, sell, or distribute their licence key
- attempt to activate NovaTurn on a different device
- modify or tamper with the licence file
- reverse‑engineer or bypass the activation system
- use counterfeit or unauthorised licence keys
- publish their licence key online
- attempt to generate their own licence keys
Any violation may result in licence termination.
7. Lost or Compromised Keys
7.1 Lost Keys
If a user loses their licence key, NovaTurn may reissue it based on purchase records.
7.2 Compromised Keys
If a licence key is leaked, stolen, or compromised:
- NovaTurn may revoke the key
- A replacement key may be issued
- The compromised key will no longer activate NovaTurn
8. Refunds & Key Validity
8.1 Refunds
If a refund is issued, the associated licence key will be permanently invalidated.
8.2 Invalid Keys
NovaTurn will reject keys that are:
- revoked
- refunded
- counterfeit
- generated by unauthorised tools
- mismatched with the device’s Machine ID
9. Enforcement
NovaTurn reserves the right to:
- revoke keys used in violation of this Policy
- disable access to the full version
- refuse support for users employing unauthorised keys
- pursue legal action in cases of fraud or piracy
9.1 Updates & Upgrades
9.2 Free Updates
Your licence includes free updates to all minor versions (e.g., 1.1 → 1.9).
9.3 Major Upgrades
Major version upgrades (e.g., 1.x → 2.x) may require an additional purchase.
10. Privacy & Data
NovaTurn does not collect personal data beyond what is necessary for activation:

Licence key
Activation date
No media files, playlists, or usage behaviour are transmitted or stored externally.

11. Third‑Party Components
NovaTurn uses third‑party libraries, including VLC and PyQt5. These components are licensed under their respective open‑source licences. By using NovaTurn, you agree to comply with those licences.
12. Disclaimer of Warranty
NovaTurn is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:
uninterrupted operation
compatibility with all media formats
error‑free performance
that the software will meet your specific requirements
You use NovaTurn at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
NovaTurn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption
arising from the use or inability to use the software
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for your licence.
14. Termination
This Agreement terminates automatically if:
you violate any terms of this Agreement
you attempt to bypass activation
you use counterfeit or unauthorised licence keys
Upon termination, you must uninstall NovaTurn and delete all licence files.
15. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
