NovaTurn is designed with privacy as a core principle. The application operates entirely on your local device and does not collect, transmit, or share personal data.
This Policy applies solely to the NovaTurn desktop application and does not govern external websites or services linked within the software.
2. Information NovaTurn Does Not Collect
NovaTurn does not collect, store, process, or transmit any of the following:
- personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number)
- usage analytics or telemetry
- media library contents or playback history
- device identifiers beyond the locally‑generated Machine ID
- IP addresses or network information
- cookies or tracking data
All media playback and application functionality occur entirely on your device.
3. Machine ID and Licence Activation
NovaTurn uses a locally generated Machine ID to verify licence keys. This Machine ID:
- is created on your device
- is used only for licence validation
- is never transmitted to NovaTurn or any third party
- remains stored only in memory during activation
The Machine ID is not used for tracking, profiling, analytics, or identification beyond licence verification.

4. Licence Information
When you activate NovaTurn, the application stores a small licence file on your device containing:
- your licence key
- activation status
This file is stored locally in your system’s application data directory and is not transmitted externally.
NovaTurn does not access, read, or transmit any other files on your system.
5. External Links
NovaTurn includes a small number of external links that are opened only when you choose to interact with them. These links include:
- one link to YouTube for viewing content in your web browser
- two links to our official website — Privacy Policy and Licence Agreement
- one link to our Stripe payment page during purchase
NovaTurn does not send any information to YouTube, our website, or Stripe unless you explicitly open one of these links.
6. Updates
NovaTurn checks for updates by retrieving a publicly available version file. This process:
- does not include any personal data
- does not transmit any information from your device
- does not identify you or your system
Only the version number is retrieved.
7. Third‑Party Components
NovaTurn uses third‑party libraries such as VLC and PyQt5. These components operate locally and do not transmit personal data. Their respective licences govern their use, and you agree to comply with those terms.
8. Children’s Privacy
NovaTurn does not collect personal information from any users, including children. The software is intended for general use and does not contain features directed toward children.
